One of the reasons Cornerstone Remodeling exists is that Nathan McGranahan & Aaron Shaul are deeply committed to helping the needy, lost, and hurting. Coming from that vision, 'Cornerstone Gives Back' was born. The purpose of this initiative is to serve people here in Omaha, as well as around the world.

Projects involved with in Omaha include Step Out (the largest city-wide service day in the nation), Royal Family Kids Camp, and Habitat for Humanity.

Three of the global projects currently involved with are:

Haiti - In March, Aaron lead a team from Brookside Church to do relief work in earthquake ravaged Port-Au-Prince. In 30 seconds Haiti went from the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere to probably the poorest country in the world. Answering the call to help, the team helped with much needed food/water relief, as well as rebuilding work. The trip was physically demanding, but it was a great opportunity to help those in severe need.

Mexico - Aaron, Nathan, Blake, and Abe traveled down to Tlanchinol, Mexico in March with a team from Brookside Church to assist building a pastor's house and church. It was a very successful trip and much was accomplished on the construction of the building.

Zambia - The Hope Center in Zambia, an under-construction project Brookside Church is working on, is a care center for AIDS orphans. Zambia is a country struggling with a sky-rocketing AIDS problem, one of the highest orphan rates in the world, and extreme poverty. Aaron was able to travel there in September and is returning in June for several weeks. While there, he plans to assist the local pastors in their ministry, do plumbing and construction work on the facility, set up soccer goals, and show God's love in a practical way to kids who desperately need it. Cornerstone hopes that by assisting with the Hope Center, lives can be saved and children be given hope. To learn more, click here.
